Mistress Rita wants you to push your boundaries. Don’t be afraid; she’s asking politely.
A true Gemini with a drive for novelty, excitement, and new forms of communication, Rita took to kink like a freshly-manicured foot to a brand-new stiletto shoe- that is to say, with pleasure. Not only does she enjoy learning and living more and more about power exchange and ways to play with the senses (and the mind), she loves to share her experiences, to expand the public image of kink from (just) “whips and chains” to.. a way to be your sexiest self, to act out your wildest dreams.
Mistress Rita has several additional identities, including singer, writer and performer. In an event of kinky kismet, she was lucky enough to meet Mistress Nina Payne after a burlesque show in the summer of 2010, and has been a proud Domi Doll ever since.
She is happiest in latex, glitter, or simply a smile.

DD: How, when and where did you get interested in or exposed to the Kink Scene?

MR: I was very fascinated at a VERY young age (like four) by some images I saw in movies- Scarlet O’Hara being laced into her corset in “Gone With the Wind”; Halley Mills’ intricate lace-up boots in “Pollyanna” that were too complicated for her to put on without help- clearly I was at least into fetishwear (or some Southern Gothic/Victorian version of it) and its trappings without knowing it! Some of my early fantasies involved bondage, helplessness (mostly of others, with myself as a voyeur), stuff like that. I worked for kink-friendly sex-toy company Babeland from 2002-2005, and that’s when my real knowledge and experience of BDSM developed, and it’s just grown since then.

DD: What do you like most about being involved in the Kink Scene? Dislikes?

MR: I love the community of wonderful, fun, accepting folks I’ve gotten to know so far in the lifestyle scene (with which I’m admittedly not super involved in. I’m kind of a private gal.. but through the Dollz I’m hoping to get out and about more) in New York City, and most of all I love what we get to do: PLAY! Kink is playtime for grownups: dress-up, make-believe, and so much more.

There is a lot of misunderstanding regarding what kink (of both the professional and lifestyle variety) is to the vanilla world at large, which means a lot of answering the same questions, and really just explaining how much more than just “whips and chains” it really is. It’s great to be able to educate the public, but it can be exhausting to be a “poster girl of kink” in certain situations- and there is the judgment that can come with that.

DD: Has your life changed after being exposed to the Kink Scene?

MR: I never saw myself as someone who could be dominant- I always identified as being shy, introverted, follower-not-leader. What kink has taught me is that I DO have a dominant side within me (although I don’t always choose to use it- I find it fun to be a switch), and it’s fun to use it. It’s incredible to discover new sources of power that always existed inside yourself, and to get comfortable using them.

DD: Do you feel Kink is getting more mainstream?

MR: The mainstreaming of kink has been happening for years- One example: its imagery, especially that of fetish wear- latex, leather, metal, boots, etc. etc.- have trickled on down not just through the ranks of “bad girl” pop stars like Christina Aguilera and Rihanna, but to the likes of Katy Perry, who started out as a Christian musician and still is supposed to uphold this clean image for teenage girls. This does not bother me; I just think it’s hilarious. And it’s great that latex is getting so much exposure- it looks and feels amazing!

DD: What got you interested in Domi Dollz? How did you hear about us?

MR: I first heard about the Dollz through my dear friend Goddess Alyssa, who knows and has worked with Nina Payne and a few other Dollz, but it was a chance encounter on a sultry late-summer night in 2010 after a burlesque show I’d performed in that I was introduced to Ms. Nina Payne, a towering blonde vision in PVC! Soon afterward I was invited to join the Dollz, and it’s been an immense pleasure ever since.

DD: What is your most favorite Kinky outfit that you love to get dressed up in?

MR: My red and black latex catsuit, with my thigh-high black leather stiletto boots. And a smile.

DD: Tell us what your most ideal kinky encounter would be?

MR: Hmm, it really depends on my mood and who I’m with .

Sometimes I love being submissive- tied up, sensory-deprived and generally being told what to do. Other times, I love doing that to someone else.

DD: Tell us a little about your “vanilla” life? What is an average day like for you? What are your hobbies and interests? Do all your friends know that you are involved in Kink? Or is it something you like to keep to yourself?

MR: I love my kinky life, and I love my life as a performer (Scooter Pie), BUT with that said I’d love to carve out more time for that everyday lady underneath it all! As much as it’s incredible (and I recognize how lucky I am to get to spend so much time) being decked out in corsets and leather- or glitter and sequins- I do cherish my time in no makeup and my busted-up Docs. I love being a homebody when I can, and reading in bed is probably my all-time favorite activity.
