Skin NYC & Domi Dollz get “Unbound” Sat, July 7th!

Domi Dollz is excited to be sponsoring an event that embraces everything we love: rope bondage, great music, and sexy, open minded people! We are talking about upcoming Skin NYC party “Unbound” at Megu on July 7th.
We’ve heard of Skin for years now, but this will be our first time sponsoring a Skin party (so hopefully they will be gentle with us, wink wink). We will be taking you behind the scenes of this notoriously naughty party and chatting with event organizer and Skin founder, Matt Skin. Plus one of our very own honorary members, Ms Domi Doll of the Month for Nov 2011 – DJ Erica Rhone will be talking to us about her upcoming set at “Unbound”. So, forget what you may have heard – Domi Dollz is going right to the source and giving you an inside peek of one of the hottest and most exclusive parties in NYC.
You’re welcome!

DD: Matt Skin, what an interesting life you must live! How did the Skin parties get started?
Matt Skin: It certainly has been an interesting ride and full of fantastic evenings. Skin began in 2001 in South Beach Miami as an alternative for people who wanted a more exclusive erotically inclined atmosphere. An environment that was secure and free from the unwanted advances women are subjected to in a normal club environment. At that time and unfortunately today as well a woman who chose to dress in whats considered a provocative style was and is often the target of unwanted attention. So in a sense the notion grew from that concept and further included the freedom of sexual expression. Many though not all of our female attendees are bisexual and as this can also be a problem as you can imagine in a general nightlife experience where even a few women “dirty dancing” can create a problem. The third thing that we wanted to embrace from the beginning was an exclusivity issue that was and still is not addressed in our genre. We felt very strongly that the lack of an exclusive door policy in the “erotic party” scene was something we had no interest being a part of as we feel there are plenty of either commercial or underground parties that cater to that absence of attendee standard..
DD: What is your door policy? Can anyone come to these parties?
Matt Skin: The short answer is no. Skin caters to a standard that reflects our aim to create a community of people that are stylish, fit and have a vibrant and upbeat energy that they bring to the table. We carefully screen our member site as well as at the door of the events to ensure a positive experience for everyone. I should also state the obvious as i always assume its known but we do not allow unescorted men. The event is strictly for couples and single females. Unescorted females are free as well. I personally have always found it ludicrous that a woman should have to pay entrance anywhere.
DD: There’s all sorts of hot gossip about the Skin parties, so give it to us straight. What can a first-timer expect when attending one of your events?
Matt Skin: This is such a great question as there are some common misconceptions regarding the Skin experience. The first one is that we are a Swingers Club. We are not. A Swingers Club is an on premise event that is by definition a place where full nudity and on premise sex are allowed. We find this far too limiting exponentially and as our attendees range from the voyeuristic to the exhibitionist. From those just looking to spice up their own relationship to a fully explored sexual encounter involving others. At Skin we strive to make everyone’s fantasy for that evening a possibility and to that end what we have created makes that possible as we embrace every attendee’s experience level. One of the things we are most known for is new couples coming in so another perk of our concept is getting a strong showing of fresh faces at our events.
DD: Domi Dollz is very excited to be a party of Skin’s upcoming “Unbound” party. Where did you get the idea for this party and what will be some of the highlights?
Matt Skin: Unbound is our yearly “homage” to the art of Shibari the art of Japanese Rope Bondage. This event tends to really loosen up the crowd and is often one of our wildest. The original idea came from us wanting to do something S&M related but not just another Leather party. At Skin we have been able to create themes that are fresh in comparison to others in our genre. Some of the highlights for this event are a onsite Shibari artist Lana Castle will be creating rope designs on any of our female attendees. Pamela Paige will have a studio area set up for those that want to be photographed. The photography at Skin is in a dedicated area and is not used by us in any way. These shots are sent directly to the person photographed for their enjoyment. We will have professional pole dancers on the pole as well as a special rope performance. We have 3 fantastic DJ’s spinning with our headliner being Erica Rhone who i know you know well and i have been a fan of for quite sometime. Shes a fantastic talent and im thrilled she will be spinning for us. Also we will have a body painter on site for those women who would like to have that experience. Body painting is a constant feature at Skin and women tend to love the beautiful design work our artist does. Also we have Pastease give aways from one of our sponsors that are always a hit at the event.
DD: Is there a dress code for the Skin parties?
Matt Skin: Yes we definitely do and I’m glad you brought that up as we have consistently had to turn people away just for this reason. The dress code can range from up-scale club wear to the more revealing. Men are fine with jeans as long as they are nice but no sneakers. People should think of it as a special night out and the attire should reflect that.
DD: We heard there is loads of “eye candy” at your events. What type of people attend these parties?
Matt Skin: We certainly have no competition when it comes to the quality of attendees. As far as type we get people from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds. One thing i have learned in the last decade is that diversity of experience helps to make the party a success. That being said the attendees do have the commonality of having a physical standard. Short answer is yes, There is a lot of eye candy to admire. I should also say that the men are admitted to the same standards of the women. I mention this as i want it to be clear to people that we do not cater to what i call the “Sugar Daddy” syndrome. This is something prevalent in the erotic party scene and something we hold the door to.
I encourage people to go to
skinparty.com to get the details on the event. Also i personal Thank You to you and the Domi Dollz for you support of Skin and I’m really looking forward to seeing you on Sat!
DD: Hello Ms. Erica! So tell us, have you ever played a Skin party before? Tell us your thoughts on Skin.
Erica Rhone: This will be my first time playing a Skin Party. When I was first asked to play Skin, I thought… “Skin”. I’m in!! Sounds like several attractive men and women who share a similar passion on the way a party should be!
DD: What kind of music will we hear this Sat?
Erica Rhone: High energy sexy tunes to keep the crowd movin and groovin. I want to keep them in the heat of the moment; Literally!
DD: You always bring a lot of style when you play. What will you be wearing at Unbound?
Erica Rhone: I’m still trying to figure that one out myself. There will be body painters and we know I’m a sucker for that!
DD: It seems like you are always DJing the sexiest parties! What’s your secret?
Erica Rhone: Letting my guard down, living in the moment, and being one with the crowd no matter the fetish!
DD: We can’t wait! Anything else you would like to add?
Erica Rhone: The crowds energy is much higher with a “sexual theme” from my experiences. That gets me going as well! I love playing these types of events! Seeing skin glistening with sweat in the distance is always a plus! You know you’re doing your job!
I’m forecasting an evening of amazing beats, beautiful people dressed with confidence ready to let loose and be one!
